Hatchback release?

Hatchback release?

I have a '83 Mustang 5.0 that I have lost the door and hatchback keys. I was told that there is a release in the hatchback so i can open it without the key. Can anyone give me any info on this? Thanks

mine is in the glovebox...with the ignition on, you can push the button and it opens the hatch.

try taking the back panel off...that should expose the bear claw to where you should be able to pop it open from there

maybe you can get a locksmith to pick the lock or recast the keys... if they can do that for cars...
