DEFINITELY check the door frame that the door hinges mount to. On my 90 5.0 both door jams are rusted out and the left door will not open now. body shops quoted me $1,000+ for each side to fix! I get in through the right door now...

check the spare tire well for rust.if possible bring a jack and jack stands to look UNDER the car..

The best is to ask him how much horsepower it puts down, and what it runs in the quarter.... the answer you are looking for is "I dont know, i've never raced the car!"

also check under the driver's seat floorboard for cracks...that is a huge sign of rode hard and put up wet

If the seller is under 27 yrs age, expect all kinds of problems. And they won't tell you anything usefull good or bad. A seller under 27 is good for at least a $1000 reduction in asking price.
If the car is titled in the dads name, walk away.
