oil question?

Default oil question?

i HAVE A 93 COBRA WITH A 347 STROKER. I RUNNING RP ALUMINUM PISTON IT A SCAT CRANK AND ROLLER ROCKRS BY CRANE.MY PROBLM IS THIS. IM BURNING OIL. WITH N 2 WEEKS AFTER DOING AN OIL CHANE, I BURN 2 QUARTS OUT OF 7 AND OM NOTRUNNNG TO RICH EITHER OR LEAN. WHYS IS THERE THI PROBLEM.

rich or lean wouldnt determine the amount of oil

check your plugs, rear main seal, oil pan gasket, sensor gasket(s)

numerous places it could be coming out of. is it holding oil pressure?

If your losing two quarts in two weeks .U should be able to notice where its leaking.Unless its internal like valve seals,piston ringsand head & intakegaskets.

Is the motor new??? The break-in might not have been done right. You'd be suprised how many people think you need to "baby" a motor for the first few thousand miles. Unfortunatly thats not the best way to seat in the piston rings. If this is the case then the motor will burn oil.

ITS NOT LEAKING...NOR ANY PUDDLES. THE MOTOR HAS ROUGHLY 40,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE NOTNOTICED BLACK SMOKE . I DID NOTICE OIL GETTIN GIN TO THE UPPER PLENUM. IM RUNNING A HOLLEY SYTEM MAX ii. I NOTICED THE SAME THING WHEN I SWAPED OUT MY COBRA MANIFOLD. I WAS USUNG RED LINE OIL FOR A WHILE (AFTER THE BREAK IN PERIOS) AND NOTICED OIL WAS FINDING PLACES TO COME OUT FROM). I WENT BACK TO USING STANDARD OIL. THE W I WAS USING WAS 10W 30 SYNTHETIC AND AFTERWARDS REDULAR( SAME W). OIL PRESSURE HOLDS ITS JUST AFTER A WHILE MY OIL PRESSURE GAUGE STARTS TO GO DOWN THEN BACK UP.
