Default dumb question

hey this may sound like a dumb question, but

were all 5.0 engines built from '85 to '93 roller cam engines? and can you run a carb setup on an engine that was originally EFI? what I'm trying to know is are all the shortblocks the same?

85-95 were factory roller, the only change through the years was from a trw based forged piston to a hyper piston. Yes the short or longblock does not care what intake and induction is on top of it

Shortblock consists of block rods crank and pistons all assembled together.
