I know a few really good places closer to the Orange County (Anaheim) area if you don't mind the 30-45 min trip...

Cant hurt to get some buisness names if its not too much trouble from ya. I just wanna get this motor double checked and cleaned up before i start modding it. How much does ur average rebuild cost? Considering u replace rings and gaskets etc.

I think the BEST shop in the So Cal area is Superior Automitive a little bit more expensive than your average shop, its worth every cent. My dad had is engine built and a set of heads done at Speed-o-motive they an awesome job. Those are the only two i feel really comfortable to reffer because I have personally seen the work they do and it's top notch. If you go to Superior the owner is real cool and will give you a tour of the shop. The place is insane!

Superior has an awesome facility. The only negative comment I have about Superior is that they didn't seem to be much of a fuel injection place. I had my car dyno tuned there and it was done by a guy that didn't work for them. They basically rented dyno time to him, and I wasn't that impressed with his tune. They had some great cars there and they came highly recommended.

Hey luckythirteen13, can you PM me with your friend's info? I am in Anaheim and am looking for someone that can notch the pistons on my '86. I want to do heads and a cam but don't want to try notching the pistons myself. thx
