Default drum to disc. i need to stop!!

i know its hardly any bragging rights to say "my car can stop faster than yours" but come on, with 100+ hp over stock, its time to get some shoes that will stop the poney as fast as it goes.

i need help with what to get. i know that there are a few kits out there for 700+ to do the drum to disc conversion but i wanted to try to do it for cheaper. summit offers currie brake kits for about 400.... anyone have any experience with those.

are the kits the best way to go? has anyone doen them a different way??

you could always buy t'c or SVO rear end (if you can find one) then upgrade your master cylinder

Considering 80% of your stopping ability comes from the front 2 tires, its more important to upgrade the fronts. ANd if you really want rear disc, get a setup off of a lincoln mark 7. Its cheap and parts are available, hell you could probably convert any rear ford rear disc brake that came off of a 8.8 to work on a mustang.

mark 7 hu. ill look into that. i just dont like the way my brake pedal feels, its just too soft and not responsive. if i can do it for cheep then i will. otherwise i will put on as big of rotor on the front as 17 inch rims will fit........ anyone know how big that is. would i need some kind of a spacer for the calipers to sit higher???

you mean 9" drums?

my opinion....upgrading your front brakes and keeping stock rear drums will look stupid, why spend $1000+ dollars on a good looking/performing front brake kit and still have drums?

Well, you could grab all the disc components off of a SN95. This will increase your rear track by .75 on each side. (5 lug)

Check out these two sites... There are a few options...

A lot of brake stuff...
More brake options...
