Default Quick ECT question

When installing my trickflow intake, i believe the holes for the ECT were in different locations than the stock lower intake, and we had to cut the wire and add in a middle wire to make it reach further. By doing that, will it alter my reading from the ECT ?

Not likely. You should be fine.

You did solder the wire in, and shrink wrap it, right?

I don't remember having that issue w/ my TFS, but as long as it still has coolant running across it, it should read fine.

I think i had to move it more towards the firewall.....I think it used to be mroe to the fron of the intake.....Maybe i'm mistakin, but isnt that the only sensor in the lower intake ?

My only concern is that i sued different wire, didnt match the factory wiring, i just hope it still transfers a correct reading of volts.

As long as the gauge of wire was correct you should be ok.

The lack of solder and heat shrink will just mean that moisture will corrode the splice sooner.

The major concern with the ECT being in the back port of the lower intake is that ther is no coolant flow in that location. This may or may not be an issue, I don't know...

Found a pic, looks like its in the right place, but there is still a wire that i cut and had to move to the back of the intake, i'll post up a pic of the wire.

Dont mind the writing in the picture, its the red wire with the yellow zip tie on it in the bottom right corner of the pic, it goes to ^ that sensor, not too sure what sensor that is......But doesnt seem as important as the ECT sensor

In this pic thecoolant temp sensor (not the ECT, the sensor for the gauge)is the lower circle hole, and the ACT is the upper circled hole.
The single wire plug is probably for the coolant temp sensor.

The ECT is actually mounted on the coolant lines for the heater, toward the front of the lower intake.

I hope that clears things up better...
