RE: ok im looking for a stang with a 5.0 or a 4.6?
ok i have had all but a 99 gt. somethign that no one has mentioed here is if your are in the market and have the money to do a 99gt which is about anywhere from $9,000-$13,000 dedpending on shape......with that kind of money if i were you i would get a 96-98 cobra with 305 hp which is 45 more hp than a a 99gt at 260hp. not to mention the fact that the cobra will and does hold way more price value than the gt will ever hold. and with 305 hp it wont take much to get up to 03 cobra competition. all you are missing with a 96-98 cobra motor wise i believe is the supercharger..so if you boguht a blower for the 96-98 cobra you can easily be over 40hp which is more than a 03-04 cobra. def go for a 96-98 cobra low mileage one and thats a really good base..i think those are the most underrated mustangs by sure..ppl foget that there half the price of a 03 cobra and with the price diffrence i know if i put $12,000 into a 32 valve dohc v8 id be in at least 500 hp range. def 96-98 cobra best option for you..cant go wrong there. they hold value the 99 gt's are going down every year...thanks to 05 gts...but a stock 96-98 cobra puts out i believe 5 more hp..so good luck with your choice.

Only difference between the 99-04 is the 03 and 04 had a stronger trans i think.Stock wise the 99 has the most since its a pi 4.6. However they are more exspensive to pay for and the aftermarket parts are alot more.

I really like the 96-98 cobra's If I could have actually found one for sale that is the route I would have taken, just gears in those cars makes a huge difference and they look awsome
