Might help, my friends stang had a similer problem, was hesitating and felt like the timing was off, we pulled the gas tank and found that the gas line had a small tear in it and was leaking fuel back into the tank. the tear was near the fuel pump so we couldnt see it or smell the gas. replaced the pump and problem solved.
i'll keep that in mind in case all else fails. thanks.

what puzzles me is the fact that everytime it misses, the tach jumps...

going out to check injector harness and vacumm leaks right now. keep the suggestions coming please!!!

ok. i took off the upper intake manifold, checked all the bolts for the lower intake manifold and they were good. all the injectors are plugged in the way they are supposed to be.

i re-installed the upper manifold, and plugged in the various vacuum lines. it started right up and i did not touch the gas. i let it idle for about 8-9 minutes. that whole time it did not miss once, then all of the sudden it started missing again. i took it for a drive and it was just as bad as before.[&o]

also wether free revving or driving it won't really go above 4500rpm. at that point it sounds like i'm bouncing off the rev limiter its missing so bad.

it might be my imagination but it seem that the fuel pump sounds a bit weird when i'm priming it; where usually its a high pitched whine it now soundsmore dull, and low from time to time.

awesme website! thanks!

so basically i have three codes? 34, 63, and 96?

34-egr did not respond properly. (i'll go clean it now)
63-tps too low (what setting on the multimeter do i use to read the voltage of the tps?)
96-fuel pump monitor circuit shows no power. (that sounds like a problem) any suggestions?

please help. thanks!

ok. cleaned the egr.

i was checking the dizzy out again and if you take the cap off and then remove the "shroud" underneath it, you can see a magnet inside the dizzy towards the back of it. my magnet can be pushed back and forth and side to side very easily and if you spin the dizzy it hits up against the spinning "fan" that the rotor attaches to.

is that supposed to happen?

use the dc setting and probe the black and green wires, has your fuel pump ever been changed? b/c it will lose pressure
when it starts going bad, and will cause your sort of problem

the pump has not been changed since i've owned the car (about two years), but it holds pressure just fine. about 41psi. there is a slight dip of about 1-2 psi when you first rev it, but that has always been there.

also i edited post #17 (right above yours) could you read over it please?

i will set the tps.
