Ohh I defiently agree, heads play a role but as you know your cam is the main factor when building a motor.

Problem here is, the chance of anyone on this board with canfield experience is non existant. There both great heads, if you want to follow the herd, buy AFR's, if you want something unique, run a canfield. They both work extremely well, and I have a feeling your not building anything serious like a class car etc.. etc.. Either will work very nicely.

I'm an AFR fan myself. My friend has a 408 with AFR 225, solid roller cam, and it runs on pump gas. He has it in an 85 GT with a C4. He drives it on the street alot. He hasn't run it in the 1/4 but in the 1/8 he runs 6.30s at 105 mph on ET Streets.

He ran it on the dyno and I think it was making in the upper 500s at the wheels. I want to say 570. Also if you call AFR they will set the heads up to your specs for no charge as long as you order them directly from them. My dad is building a 434 for his Chevelle and had them set his heads up.
