Default 289 or 302 heads

i got a pair of 289 hipo heads and i was wondering should i put those on my car since it has smaller combustion chambers so it will make more compression?

you can, but keep in mind a full 1 point of compression is worth at best 2-3%, so if you had a 300hp engine at 9:1 CR and raised it to 10:1 CR you would see a gain of approximately 10hp give or take a few.

dont do it sell them to a vintage guy for a resto the e7 flow more than the vintage heads sell them and a get a set of gt40 or somethaing

on a side not the only difference between the hipo 289 heads and the regular one are hipos got screw in rocer studs, machined valve spring seats and close tolerance pushrods slots in a nutshell but they flow identical ot a regular 289 head they were just setup to turn a high rpm to go along with the hipos solid cam
