Default 1,6rr vs 1,7rr question (birthday present)

Hey guys,
well I have a few question here. My dad just bought him a 1988 gt ho convertable and his birthday is comming up soon(so guess what wanna get him a nice present). Now I am a chevy guy only 17(please I like fords to, dad loves mustangs) and do not know that much about the 5,0 from 88. I am thinking about getting some rockers and pushrods for his 5,0. Now which of the two rocker ratios would you recommend? The 1,6 or 1,7rr? It still has the stock valves and springs in it. Will you have to replace the springs with the 1,7rr? Then also they are the penetal mount , with 5/16 studs right?(stock)

So would theese work:

or theese:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-...spagenameZWDVW

or theese:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Scorp...spagenameZWD1V

I think scorpion is a really good brand right?
Oh if this helps my dad may be swapping cam and springs pretty soon. (needs new valve seals(valve and guide size?)blowing by oil at higher rpms.

So the 1,72 scorpions with the new 5/16 comp camspushrods can be put in with no other mods for right now? I think this is the best deal right?

Thanks for your help, I really appreciate every reply.
Ben
p.s.(car already has subframe connectors, headers and dual 40´s h-pipe no cats)

I would say stick with the 1.6 RR if he is planning on switching cams soon.
