5.0 rebuild cost
How much should I expect to pay (or how much did you pay)for a basic long block rebuild? Every thing will be stock except for pistons that will be able to clear larger valves and higher lift.

RE: 5.0 rebuild cost
Depends on what all you are considering changing, upgrading, etc. Rings are usually 75 bucks or so, and mains and rods usually run ya around 50-75 with stock sizes. Gasket kits cost usually around a hundred bucks for every gasket on the motor... Less than 500 when all is said and done is a good figure if you do the work yourself... That's a good round number to expect to see, because it is never as easy as it seems

If you don't have to have the crank turned, or buy a rebuilt one, you should get out pretty cheap... The good thing about a reman crank, or a new one, is you get matched bearings... Depends on the builder, its hard to say because of rates, but it can get pretty expensive having someone else do the work

RE: 5.0 rebuild cost
i know 5.0's are a lot cheaper than most other cars, but i had to rebuild a 3.8 SC outta my '00 Grand Prix GTP, and i had it all done and after everything said and done out the door was like $3,200. so i know its going to be a hell of a lot less than that lol...another reason why i sold that and got a stang
