I'm gonna dump in some Mobil One Synthetic once spring gets here. If you can afford it, Royal Purple kicks ****!

Yea I got the conventional / synthetic thing covered thanks though. Was more curious about viscosity and weight. Im more familar with the modular engine family which has some pretty tight tolerances and 5w20 is recommended. But I just bought myself an 89 LX for a daily driver, thats why im questioning.

20w50 is a bit thick for a 302 unless you got bad valve guides and rings...where you are, you are probably fine with 10w30 all year..i'm no expert on synthetics so someone else will have to suggest those for ya..

I'll probably just keep it conventional. Id assume thats what the previous owner had been running through it and for how long I don't know. The motors in great shape too, so maybe I wont run something that thick.

if its got alot of miles on it dont use synthetic stick with regulare oil it may cause problems since its so thins such as oiling problems, or seals starting to leak . just run regular 10w30 and you'll be fine
