then loosen it and see what happens, there are a lot of things that could cause this...i'm just trying to rule out a few things...

when i say tighten it i mean make it so the clutch doesn't engauge right away make it so u have to lift it almost all the way to the top b4 it engauges

94gt you said make it release almost at the top? can i ask why? also as previously mention when i had it releasing half inch off the floor it never made a sound. Also this morning on the way to work the transmission made the metal clunk sound for a split second when shifting to third. So im starting to put 2 and 2 together and thinkin the clutch isnt engaging or dis engaging properly.

well when the pedal is higher when it engauges than means it's pusshing the flywheels farther away from the clutch disc making sure it fully disengauges (when u press the pedal... just to clearify)

if u put it that high, then all that travel under it will be it released... futher u push, further it moves the pressure plate back... thus ensuring the clutch is in fact released

i still dont understand why making it release further up would help the grind, i can be in first gear and HOLD THE CLUTCH TO THE FLOOR and sling it back into 2nd and it will grind like hell with the clutch still to the floor, id have to shift to 2nd with the pedal about to release the clutch to make any benefit from raising the clutch position in the pedal. what difference does it make where it is engaging if it grinds when the pedal is on the floor.
