Default Regular, Plus, Premium, or Super

I have a 92' GT 5.0 88,000 miles. Can someone tell me which grade of gas is the best. I normally use super premium 96 from Sunoco which is pretty decent but from the other post i read people were saying that regular gives you a better gas mileage. On a trip to Columbus i filled up my tank with regular and wasn't half way there before i had to fill up again. So can someone please tell me which grade of gas is the best and why????

i run the highest octane in my town for my car which is 92 premium. thats what i always put in it. makes the car run better. but i would say regular would probbly give the car better gas mileage

Thank you I guess i will have to downgrade my gas choice to maybe plus just until the summer time. Have you tried using Sunoco's highest grade gasplus an octane booster?

reg burns easier than 96 would but it also kinda depends on what you have done to your car the more mods the more likely gas mileage will drop

Unless you have the mods that require the higher octane or unles you've increased your timing, then you're wasting your money on higher octanes. If you're going to buy 91 or 93, at least bump your timing 4 - 6 degrees and get the free HP gains. On another note, if you're worried about gs mileage, then I don't think a 5.0L V8 engine was the best choice for you.

+1 to that last note. but as fas as best gas milage. it depends on your type of driving and where you are driving. two cars with the same everything but one with 89 gas and another with 93 octane, have them run at 55 60 70 75 dont matter how fast they will run out at the same time, your injectors only spray so much fuel. only diff is better burn with the higher octane and you can bump your timing and you need for better mods. pure myth that you get better gas milage with lower octane or higher octane
