RE: throw out bearing
not realy i use ramps in the front and jack stands in the rear and i have way more than enough clearance but i'm 511 150 lbs. so i'm a little guy, but i can also pull my tranny in 45 min. flat backing it with hand tools, and taking time to drink a beer or 2... but then again i have droped more than my fair share of trannys

A TO is not hard to do if you have a lift and a tranny jack. Doing it on the floor of your garage with jackstands sucks. You're going to need to remove your H/X-pipe first, then you'll need to remove the driveshaft, THEN the tranny. Sounds easy but trying to get the clearance you need with floor jacks is difficult at best.

RE: throw out bearing
+1 Back when I was going through trannys, all I had was floor jack and stands and hand tools, I could have it out and be rebuilding it when the trannyit was still warm. Some of us aint lucky enough to have a lift.

RE: throw out bearing
just a note that i thought i would throw out there... if u go to long (couple months) u run the risk of damaging the bearing retainer (the shaft that the throwout bearing rides on) and this will cause a lot of resistance when releasing the clutch
