Default Rear gears and Torque Coverter

How much would 4.10 gears and say a 2,800 stall help my 1/4 time in my 94 vert. And how hard and what is involved in changing a torque converter? Im pretty sure you just have to yank the tranny and swich them.

go more like 3200 , the advertised stall speed will be less on lighter cars (yes , even a 'vert is considered lighter by standards) and lower hp too will lower the ad'd stall

w/ a 3200 you will probably see 2800 on a hard launch, and be very streetable

along w/ 4.10's i'd say expect to cut close to 1 full second w/ tires (what gears now ? door tag shows it)

m=2.73
z=3.08
e=3.27 (aod cars only)

you need to pull the trans out to do the stall, but it's pretty str8 forward. the h-pipe back needs to come off, which can be hard cuz of the sucky stock shorty headers, good time to do full exhaust, cuz you can just cut alot of it off, instead of fight the cruddy bolts that are almost welded at this point

* point to know, when removing the DS, you need a 12 pt 12mm socket , a regular socket won't work on these bolts, and you'll get aggravated

i have long tubes, offroad , and a t5 and i can swap clutches in about 2 hours flat

but i have more room in there, and you still have emissions i'm guessing

expect 8 hours total, realistically it should be about 4 (again, removing 15 year old stock exhaust is the hardest part)

What ever you do, don't get an off the shelf! That's the biggest mistake that people make when buying torque converters.Check these guys out, they're awesomehttp://www.edgeracingconverters.com/ . Andre (from Edge Racing) built my torque converer (3000 rpm) and I don't think that I could ask for more out of a torque converter.
