cam or not
tomarrow i will be putting on my new upper and lower trick flow street intake along with 65mm throttle body and my question is i have a trick flow stage 1 cam should i put it in or not? will i get any extra gains with it my set upthat is all stock except long tube headers and flowmasters, every thing i seem to read on here that its a waste of time without heads and i will not be able to put heads on for a long time if ever because i don't want to sink a ton of money in this car. Also what kind of power increase should i expect from the throttle body, intake, 70mm maf (soon)and3:73 gear i currently have a stock 3:08 gear. i need all the info i can get because i start tomarrow.

RE: cam or not
id wait to do it w. the heads... just my opinion tho... its conciderably more work to do a upper and lower +cam... then it is to just do the upper and lower.
i mean itll prob. give ya some gains... but i dont no how much w. stock heads.
but i just saw it says u prob wont be putting heads on for a LONG time, so **** it... put the cam in
and btw... stock 3.08s ftw!!!!!

RE: cam or not
well if the tfs is a step above stock id change it now with intake...i put a edelbrock performer intake,cam=204/214@50 274/280adv 443/478 lift and headers and made a hugggggggge diff..210 at fly from factory and 198 rwhp 246 torq after swap,in a 1/2 ton truck////
in a all factory head,block...with a 9.1 comp//you will notice a diff,,,but might not be enuff, for what your lookin for...they say on avg,,a cam, intake swap is good around 20-40 hp...depending on motor and parts

RE: cam or not
Dude, swamp that cam in there while you are at it. If you have the know how and are ready to do it, do it. The stock cam doesnt do much past 5000rpms, with my E-cam I can pull all the way to the rev limiter.. Swap that cam in and it will breathe a lot better up top, stock heads an all.

RE: cam or not
i say that while hes at it he should pick up some cheap heads from a junkyard if he can... but if not, like i said... throw it in there...
i didnt think about the rpm range, thats a good point...
