Default RE: Plug gap?

The gap that ford reccomends is 54 thousandths. I just put platinums in mine and i am running them at 50 thousandths. I have heard 5.0's dont like plats. I upgraded the rest of my system though and I am assuming platinums are harder to fire and thats why 5.0's dont like them. I also set the gap tighter to help them fire easier. The gap the manufacturer reccomends is the gap that will provide the best emissions.
