oil level sensor problem

Default oil level sensor problem

The oil pan sensor on my 302 is leaking really bad. i already replaced it off another engine and still leaks. how should i fix it. i see that you can buy the o2 sensor/oil level sensor wire harness but that isn't of much help. what do i need to do

When you say you replaced the sensor off another engine, do you mean that you installed a used part and are now wondering why it still leaks? Maybe try a new part with a new gasket.

Once an o-ring gets brittle and compressed, it only continues to seal if you don't touch it. As soon as you disturb it, it will start leaking.

When I had my oil pan off I took out the sensorand welded a plug in the hole, never had a problem since. I just check the oil peridocally.
