Well, heres the story. My friend just baught a car w/ a freshlyrebuilt 357, edelbrock manifold, carbd, yada yada yada but it has never been started. Not sure how long its been sitting but I would say atleast 3-6 months.... with no oil [:@]What steps should we take before trying to turn it over? And no, its nota Stang... its a Trans-Am Thanks alot guys.

put some oil in the motor first, and then turn the motor by hand with a socket and rachet by the crank. spin it over a couple of time so everything gets lubed. check the plugs, make sure the fuel pump is working, make sure fuel is coming up and make sure you're getting spark. and then you should be ready to fire it up.

put oil in it and prime the pump then try and turn the crank with a breaker bar to make sure it will spin

Well, we definetly plan on priming it... thats a given. But anything else that could be suggested would be great.

thats about it. just make sure everything is lubed up good. then crank her up.
