Default weld or new?

OK, so I get MAC headers (used <-- yeah I know first mistake...) and put them on. I immediatelyhear aticking noise only diuring throttle and accel on both sides... and after hours of troubleshooting and new gaskets and tightening bolts it was only on the passenger side..so i isolate the noise to the ball joint on the header to H pipe. (flange joint)..Finallytake it to muffler fellah and he says there is most likely a crack in headers right around the 4 into 1 section.... SO he says he can weld it and put back on for like $40... So my question to the Pros on this site is.. Weld it? Or buy new ones and cut my losses?
Hell at this point the amount I saved on the inital purchase is only $40 away from had i bought new in the first place... What would you do at this point?

Weld it... it will work fine. You are aware that headers are welded together.[sm=smiley2.gif]
