Default 10 mpg, can't be normal?

Or is it normal. It is still sd, idles fairly smooth, idle does surge a little. Car has 3.73 gears. when I drive I do shift around 4 or 5 grand, its fun, but I realize it does not help my mileage. This is all city driving also. Should I do the mass air conversion or do I possible have some sensors that need to be changed. I have not scanned the ecu yet to check anything. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

when was the last time you did a tune up? I also would recommend changing your fuel filter. Shifting that high is REALLY killing your gas milage, try cutting that in say, half? You can shift around 2.5k and save quite abit of money. I really dont see a reason to take it up over 3k if shes your dd.

Shift at lower points and get a tune-up if you haven't lately. If that doesn't help there are probably other issues.

new cap, rotor, wires and plugs, I don't always rod it. just the last week or so. I have been keeping an eye on the fuel, but no changes. It's funny because it runs great.

people, this is not a discussion. don't be rediculous!!!!! If you want to hot rod around all day... great, but don't bitch and cry about gas mileage when you drive it like you stole it. If you are worried about fuel economy, go buy yourself a ****ing honda and just drive the pony on nice weekend cruises.

wow, someone brought out the harsh stick. meany lol. =P. I do agree with him thought to a certain extent. If ya beat it its not gonna last, and if you beat it your gonna lose, either in repairs or in gas, so either way, if you take care of it, it will take care of you. Drive her under 3k rpms for a week, see what kinda gas milage you get, bet it goes up atleast 5-7mpg.

I get about 115 miles per tank, and again I don't always beat on the car, it is my daily driver, but thats what you get when you try and discuss some of your driving habits. I will try to be super conservative on this tank, just filled up, let you all know how it goes.

a 3k pull to me is no where near conservative. Ya gotta put your foot in at 3k, Keep shift points around 2.5k, and trust me, you will see ATLEAST 250 to a tank, mines running extremely well, and i have had alot of preventive maintence done so i can squeeze out abit more. I rarely hit over 3.5k rpms on mine.
