Default fuel pump question

i apologize if this is a stupid question because it probably is. but does the fuel pump always stay on or does it cut on and off during the time of driving?

now, really, I want you to think hard about this....

what does a fuel pump do?

got it? ok.....

now why would you want it to turn off when you're driving?....

i was talking to a guy today at church and hes old. used to build hot rods and everything but now hes about 90 and thought he was having one of those old people moments and he said something like that. so if i rigged a switch from the battery (something with power) to the fuel pump it would be ok?

You could rig a switch if you wanted too but the real question is WHY would you want to turn your fuel pump off while driving?

NO you should NOT rig a switch to it... You should follow the instructions I gave you on making a NEW RELAY CIRCUIT!

I agree with adder, just rewire it, you will know for sure if it is a wire problem, short or what ever, or a reelay problem.. Just rewire and then you can be sure of the problem, if you know that the fuel pump is good.
