Default Trying to get an estimate of HP

I just traded my 1987 Porsche 924S straight up for a 1989 Mustang GT with quite a few mods. It is unknown to me whether any work has been done internally or to the heads. All I know it what I can see (bolt-ons). I was wondering if any of you mighthave an idea ofwhat kind of horsepower this car is making if all it has is the bolt-ons that are in my sig. I also would like your opinions on what kind of 1/4 mile times this car would run with 3.73 gears and an aluminum driveshaft (local track doesn't open until Apr.14 and it's killin me LOL). All I know is that this thing will smoke my 86 GT (AOD) in a heartbeat. Thanks.

215-225rwhp +or- some. probably right around 300ft/lbs + or - a little too at the wheels. as for times in the quarter.. could be low 12's depending on the suspension set up..but realisticly... probably a low 14.

An aluminum d/s is a good thing. Something to think about Adam.

lighter.. less rotating mass in the driveline wich means youre motor can spin up faster wich also means better acceleration.

frdmstng1986GT,

I thought these cars made those HP/TQ numbers stock. Am I wrong?

So basically, all of the bolt-ons on the engine are just making up for drivetrain losses? How much RWHP did these cars make stock? I'm not doubting your estimates, I just thought they would have made more power. Like I said, it could have head/internal work I just don't know. That might be why I think it has more power. It might also be that I'm used to driving the 86 AOD and the 5-speed just "feels" faster.

1986 made 200BHP or ~175RWHP
1987-93 made 225BHP or ~195
