will a gas tank rust on the inside?
i stored my '95 for the winter with very little gas in it (i didnt want to be running six month old gas in it when i first started it in the spring), and a friend told me the other day that i shouldnt have done that because the tank will rust on the inside and cause all kinds of problems...is this true? i really dont want to f*ck anything up by sending a bunch of rust into my engine (whatever the filter doesnt stop), should i just replace my tank to be on the safe side? or maybe just replace the filter after a couple of full tanks of gas? should i be worried? this is really bugging me now, i'm afraid to start it...

normaly when u store it with little gas in the tank. moisture builds up in the tank.....you should be fine, fill it up with the highest octain gas you can get with like 3 200ML bottles of gasline anti-freeze in there and if that dosent fix it....change the filter, and if that dosent work.....drop the tank.

NO, SOME have plastic tanks and thats is like a real recent thing they started doing (3 or 4 years at the most i think) so his car wouldn't even if it was a common practice

well i thought it had one at first so i wasnt worried, but then i realized that its just some kind of plastic cover they put on it. the tank is metal. so high octane gas will clean it out? does it matter what octane it is? its hard to find anything above 91 around here.

in all honesty it should have hardly any rust in there anyway, i mean the get a little just from letting them get empty b4 u fill it back up even in a DD situation, i wouldn't worry about it
