Default 2 coolant temp sensors

On a 5.0L, are there 2 coolant temp sensors that regulate air/fuel ratio and timing?. One is located behind the thermostat housing on the lower intake manifold, and the other is located on the metal heater hose.

One is for the ecm to control a/f and the other is for the temp gauge

did you take out and clean youre ACT sensor in youre lower intake (drivers side of lower intake behind the distributor, 2 wire connector)? they usualy get pretty gummy. i cleaned mine and it helped a little but i think i need new O2 sensors.

ok, so the sensor in the black heater hose (passenger side) is the coolant temp sensor which the ecu uses for a/f ratio and timing and the sensor behind the thermostat, passenger side of the lower intake manifold, is the coolant temp senderfor the temp gauge? I thought the driver's side lower intake manifold side at the very front is the coolant temp sender for the temp gauge?
