Default Gasket To us with AFR 165's

I am using this gasket kit. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...p;autoview=sku

and have torqued down the heads with the gaskets but then a friend told me I must use a copper gasket with aluminum heads?? I am also not sure if the above gasket kit is copper or steel.

NO DO NOT USE COPPER.

they are thick, expensive, lower compression, and can become a pain to seal.

A little confused. So are the gaskets I have copper? And if they are steel is it okay to use them?

well ... the gasket you should use has a copper wire fire ring instead of steel.. it's not that the gasket is copperhowever felpro makes a preflattened steel fire ring gasket that minimizes brineling....you can use plan gaskets BUT it WILL brinell the head.. meaning it will put a mark in your new alluminum head where the fire ring isi prefer using the copper wire gasket that eliminates marring the head part number 1011-2.
