1991 mustang sounds like it's missing please help.
Yesterday i pulled the top of the motor apart to change my fuel pressure regulator. Well i had everything taken apart and installed the new regulator its set to about 39 psi at idle with the vaccum cap attached. I reinstalled everything in the right order but i reused the upper intake manifold gasket is this ok? My motor has 5000 miles on it it is basically a 96 ford explorer motor with a tfs stage one cam. i torqued the intake manifolds bolts in stages up to 12 ft lbs. I fired it up and it sounded ok. we adjusted fuel pressure up to 40 psi at idle and it goes to like 44 at part throttle then when u let off it backs down to 38 and then goes and stays at 40psi. It does make a weird noise when i put the key to on when the fuel pump primes it sounds like there is air in the fuel rails or something. it goes away if i turn the key off then back on. Is this just because of the regulator? I changed the plugs today and pulled the front two plugs and it doesnt even look like its been fired which is strange maybe wires? When i started the motor and drove it it felt like it had a bit of a miss. I'll try to take a video of it to see what u guys think. What gap should i have my plugs set to i set them to 0.052
mods are tfs stage one cam, explorer intakes, explorer heads, bbk headers, off road h pipe, 75 mm mass air, fenderwell cold air, and some other stuff. I'm hoping nothing internally is screwed up because i just had it on the dyno and it was running a little bit lean. Injectors are 19lbs calibrated to the mass air.

So that is why it sounds a lot quieter and is running funny. On the new gasket can i use a little bit of silicone to hold it onto the lower intake manifold?

maybe just a small dab of it in each corner to hold it but other then that you should be fine. get a new gasket and replace it. if that doesnt fix it then you got a vacumleak somewhere else. look for cracked or split vacum lines.

thanks man i really appreciate it . 12ft lbs sound right for the torque thats what the ford explorer book says for the upper since its an explorer intake. I'll take a vid so u guys can hear it.

alright this first vid was when i first got the car, everything was running smoothly till i took it to a dyno and they printed out a/f and it was running lean like 16:1 air fuel. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...oid=2015732838
this second video is today what it sounds like. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...oID=2018008544
i don't know if its me or not it just sounds different.

Does it drive different? My mustang was missing when one of the plug wires melted on the and header was arcing. At idle the car shook and driving around it had a loss of power.

yeah a little bit i think im gonna change the wires because when i drove the car it looked like number 1 cylinder and 5 cylinder when i took the plugs out after driving around i didn't see any change in color and it didn't even look like it was firing. I used the standard copper plugs.
