Default Anyone using an intake spacer (1" maybe?)

Maybe it's just me or maybe it's the fact that I haven't driven the Mustang since September... But I swear that it sounds different since I installed the 1" intake spacer. It's kinda hard to describe, but it's as though I can hear the air being sucked / blown into the upper intake now. It's almost like i can hear the air moving at a high speed, where I could never hear that before. It's not extremely loud, but loud enough to hear over a S/C whistle and my exhaust.

Another way to describe it... kinda like the sound a bypass valve would make if it were aimed into the intake... You know, like how you cna hear a large volume of air quickly moving into a hollow confined space?

Is this normal or to be expected, or am I just crazy?

No, definately not, lol. On the drive home today I thought of a better way to describe it.

It sounds as if my defroster is always on low. I actually stopped and physically checked at one point ot make sure it wasnt. It's like I hear a constant steady flow of air thats not too loud, but noticable.

Are you sure all the vacuum lines are hooked back up to the intake?

Yup. Definitely not a vacuum leak. I triple checked all of the lines when I swapped everything. And my boost / vacuum gauge reads around 15 - 16 inches at idle, which is right where it should be.

I'm guessing that raising it a full inch made it more noticable since it's closer to the top of the hood or something. I can't think of any other reason why I hear it so well.

Thats actually perfectly normal. I had a similar problem/issue with my 1g Probe GT with the phenolic spacers... it sounded like water flowing through pipes in the house... Sorta like you are in the room next to a bathroom, you can hear the water through the wall...

I just got used to it.. Dont worry about it though

P.S. Samseed... you have 3 days to get that POS running ... your *** better be at NED for the 1st!

That's it! That's exactly what it sounds like.

Oh, it's running... I'm just getting used to it all over again. Keep in mind that since September, I have been driving a Geo Tracker that literally has like 65 RWHP and even though it has an exhaust leak, tis so quiet you wouldn't know it. I'm slowly getting used to my Mustang Again, lol.

My first few WOT runs scared the **** outta me because I forgot how loud she screams once that bypass closes and the S/C kicks in. Between the new spacer noise, teh S/C whistling, and the exhaust I'd be suprised if I didn't lose somehearing by the end of the summer!

And weather permitting, I'm gonna be at Epping. I even drove my sorry *** there for Fun Ford Weekend last year. It wasn't fun, and it wasn't the whole weekend, but at least it was Ford.
