smog is off... and bypassed with 76inch belt... this is drivers side only...and it is soo close in there it is hard to determine if lifters/valves or leak.....I am wondering if the clamps that pull the ball and socket together is not sealing completely beacuse the H pipe is stretched and preventing the clamp from tightening more becasue it is touching the bottom of the clamp... ... that make sense?

$10 says it's a leaking manifold. If it were to the h-pipe, you wouldn't be able to distinguish one cylinder firing from another. Did it start when they were installed? If so, you screwed up. If it developed later on, you probably just need to retorque your bolts. You should do that anyway.

LT you owe me $10[sm=icon_rock.gif] just kidding... I found the problem... Stolemy womans compact mirror and used it toget the angle i needed to see around the header and and saw the steering shaft was in fact touching my headers... so I loosened the motor mount and put a temporary spacer (not quite 1/4 inch and re-tightened... sound is gone from inside the car... well normal engine tick is there outside BUT the inside is quiet again.. Thanks for the help fellas..
