Cold Air Intake
#3
RE: Cold Air Intake
There are none..the stock box pulls the air from the exact location the 'cold air intakes' do...not to mention with the silencer removed and a high flow filter the stock box and inlet pipe will flow enough air to feed even the aggressive HCI 302/306 N/A cars. Listed in order of worst restrive part to lesser restrictive parts in stock form would look like:
MAF
HEADS
INTAKE
TB
STOCK HEADERS
nowhere on that list would you find air box...it's a really nice effective stock pc. Some aftermarket MAF's will have issues with A/F and or idle as a result of the bend just before the maf on the fenderwell kits, turbulance is created by the bend causing incorrect readings by the maf...most common with the PRO-M 75mm units and some C&L's. Should also note having an open filter in the bay can cause simular issues as a result of 'fan wash'...turbulance caused by the fan causing reading issues as well. However I will say many people have had good results with the anderson power pipe...the huge diameter and mounting/flow locations are way beyond the MAC and BBK units feeding enough for larger displacement HCI cars.
