i actually just did this today and it works great. i mounted my temp switch right beside the battery. the car runs cooler than ever and i also free'd up alil bit of restriction from the clutch fan.so i am pleased with this and i am sure you will be also.

Does the switch need to screw into the radiator or where the temp switch is for the guage in the car. which fan did you go with, the taurus one. Thanks for the help. btw, I can get a used fan for $45 or a brand new one for $125, what would you do.

That's definitely going to be my next mod. I've been wanting to do it for a while. I'll probably just run mine on a switch, though.

Can you guys post up how you mounted it? I took a crack at mine today but couldn't figure out how to mount the overflow tank and I didn't have the proper materials to fasten the fan itself to the top radiator mounting holes. I had the fan sitting in the clips at the bottom of the radiator, fits well there. This is as far as I got:

Not to thread jack but it'd be beneficial to all...but any suggestions on how to mount it to the top of the radiator? I'm probably just going to get some strips of aluminum to make an extension.

Disclaimer: Zip-tie was used to hold the fan in place, my mechanical fan is back in.

yeah it made a huge huge huge difference mostly because my fan clutch was frozen and always spinning it was robbing soooooo much from my car. the best thing that ever happend was when it blew to peices and destroyed my radiator lol.
