Default rear end question.

I have a 7.5 with 3:23's (factory if im correct for the 7.5). I have a 8.8 with 3:73's waiting in my garage to be put in but my question is what is the speed difference gonna be. My first gear is literally constant tire spin with no traction until after i hit second. My motor seems pretty decent with the current set up but whats the difference on a peer torque motor???
