Default paint price

about how much is the norm to get a notch painted at a reputable body shop? I'm not talking show-quality paint, but about a 10 footer.

Need more info, does it need body work or is it a scuff and shoot? My car needed a little body work(no rust work) sanding/painting, clear, wetsanding/buffing and cost around 2500 and I considered that cheap for a very good job.....I would never take a car to Maaco/Earl Schiebor at least not a car I actually liked.....

Yeah I would definitely have had everything done (sanding, a TON of prep work, etc).

Thanks for the responses, but it doesn't really matter anymore. Turns out I'll be returning to the middle east for two years, so now I'll have to wait even longer to start a notch as a project. Oh well, at least I get to see all my old friends again.

Since I am going to beat on my car and really didn't care if it was show quality I used cheap paint. My wifes uncle paints cars and he is old school. He uses acryllic enamel paints made by Dupont Nason. The thing with these paints is there is no clear coat. It is a one step process so if you missed something during prep or body work there is no fixing it like with base clear. Very few people paint with this now but it is cheap. My car look real good there are spots but hell, paint and supplies was like $150 guy charged me $350 for labor. So I am happy with it.

My car was painted by Macco , the picture below is after 2 years. Its still in pretty good shape but I am going to get it redone. I was pretty happy with the job they did 1200 (some sanding, shaving, and body work)
