Ford Racing and D+D Performance T56 Kits- Easy install?
As title really, do they use the usual 302 clutch and flywheel, or is something different needed?
Any other real issues that make em a PITA to fit?
I need to get a custom propshaft so thats not a problem really, well, it is one, but unavoidable.
Due to the silly low diff ratio I am stuck with (4.11, its not a 'stang) I really could do with one to get the top end i want, esp the Viper one with its longer gears.
Neither is cheap so want to know what im getting myself in for before i splash the cash.
Cheers
Steve

the regular t-56's 6th gear is about the same as many other 5 speed's. the viper spec is the only one with that great 0.50 overdrive. otherwise most 5 speed transmissions and the t-56 has about a .64 ish gear ratio for the top gear. and you also said that its not a stang? so what is it then cuz that will kinda help to kno if we're tryin to help ya out

Its not really going to help you to be honest, but its a Nissan Skyline.
An R32GTR.
The Japcar fansare gonna hate it, esp as its a GTR, but thats half the reasonim buildingit, to **** them off.

A Skyline GTR, a 180SX drift car, a Legacy Turbo, 2 other cars not worth mentioning, and about a million random engines, inc a302W and a 351W.
Im gonna get loads of grief from the Skyline fanaticsfor removing the "legendary" RB engine and the 4wd setup, but im bored of all that now, im more into stuff like this.
If i had to do it all over again id just not own the Skyline and have a Fox Body or Ford Sierra RS500 (I used to own a Sierra Cosworth before the Skyline) but at mo ive got a really really tidy GTR that would be madness to sell,im going to fit the 302 in.
It wont be as quick (the RB i hadwas a 900 or so hp RB30) but a twin turbo 302will be a lot more fun, cheaper, VERY different, and more "me", so im doing it.
And to be honest, the powerband the TT302 will give, the lower tranny losses, and the better gearing, means the performance difference will be far closer than the BHP difference would makepeople think.
Fitting the 302 isnt too hard, i know someone who already fitted a 351 in theirs.
Couple of pics in the workshop (forgive the ride height, engine-less in the pics)

But anyhow, regardless of gear ratios, how welldo these fit to the 302? Use usual 302 clutch n fly or?

it almost sounds as it your from austrailia.... where you at.. the UK or something?
You may want to ask around in the other sections where the 03/04 cobra owners hang out to get some dimensions on the T-56. I know the R3 has a large trans tunnel, but it would be nice to get some sizes going before you drop $3700 for a trans kit.

Chopping the tranny tunnel dont bother me too much, and the GTR gearbox is HUGE anyhow, so shouldnt be a big issue.
And im from the UK, mention it in my other thread.

you'll prolly need an 11" clutch for a 10 spline input shaft and a fly to match it. im not real sure bout the v-spec as that one may have a 26 spline input shaft. but like i said im not sure
