starting problem
my car will start but not by turning the key switch. i have to start it with the thing on the fender (near the battery where the positive and negative hook up to) by jumping it with a screw driver. i forgot what its called. but the starter is brand new, a new ignition switch, and a new thing on the fender. you guys need more info i bet so just ask me what you need to know. have no clue what it is. thanks,

does the key crank the motor? probably a safety switch. jumping the solenoid bypasses the switches.

RE: starting problem
you signature says 5spd, so check out your clutch safety switch. there should be a little plunger button mounted up under the dash that the clutch pedal pushes in while you push the clutch. it should have a 2 wire connector. remove the wiring connector, and join the two wires with a paperclip, then try to start it with the key.
