Default gt40 crate motor

Does anyone out there have a BBK intake on a gt-40 crate motor? If you do what is your setup? I have a 93LX auto. It is bone stock but I am placing a gt-40 crate motor in to it. If you have a BBK on any setup do you like it?

You could find an old 5.0 block, have it machined and buy a trick flow kit and have the same or more power than going with that stock block crate engine...without forged internals...just f.y.i.

Fords crate motor is quite over rated...rebuild and TF kit would yield much better results power wise. The 340hp rating is WAY off from what you're actually going to see..most never see 270 at the wheels even after tuned.

If you don't know how to build an engine yourself, you'd get a much better result (a lot cheaper, I might add) if you get a reputable perfomance shop to build a motor for you.

I would save a little bit more and get a qualified shop to build you an engine that uses aftermarket top end components and better internalsthat will be more upgrade friendly later down the road. I understand you are on a budget but I would sit down and write out what you want exactly out of this car. If you want a decently powered vehicle that you will never go extreme with in as far as horsepwoer goes then get the ford, I just think you have many options that will end up being better in the long run........

If you spend your money wisely and pick your upgrades correctly [ almost impossible, as everyone makes a few mistakes ] and in the end youll ave the car of your dreams with less oney spent

Sorry if I'm preaching, I'm just trying to save you the grief
