RE: fuel mileage of the 5.0
4.10 gears and i still get 21 mpg w/ the ac running on the hiway
i don't really drive in the city, i'm 1 mile from the freeway going to work, 3 miles from the freeway to my work
twice a week i go to night classes and it's about 10 miles RT city
doing that i average 21+ mpg

RE: fuel mileage of the 5.0
two years ago i put a k&n air intake and bbk x-pipe with flowmaster american thunder mufflers. drove home to pa and got 34 mpg! easy on the throttle, no "playing"
since then, milage has gone DOWN about: 7 mpg.
took it in to my mechanic for a tune-up and to see if anything with the car changed.... nothing
pay attention here:
started monitoring my f150 gas milage after that;
noticed a drastric change in it too (about 8-10 mpg different than it was was)
want to know what i think?
it's the friggen gas!
i think "they" are "cutting" it.
same driving habits (throttle response)
what else could it be?
anyone else experience a mpg drop in the last few years?
usapony

I really wouldn't doubt it! I've noticed that my gas mileage and performancehas been downin the past couple of years, it could be the gas or it's all in my head, who knows. Aren't they adding more ethanol now to fuel then they were last year or two years ago?

Using ethanol based fuels you will DEFINITLY see a DECREASE in mileage.
btw, I get about 20-24
