Default Timming and cooling questions

Check signature for parts. What should I be timming the car at (10 degrees now) the radiator I have now isn't working in the summer (gets to 110 here) You know any good 4 row radiator that have the conversion from a 1965 mustang to a 5.0L

Default RE: Timming and cooling questions

I would get a Mark VIII fan (Blows 4000+cfms according to some reports), and a 180* thermostat and that should get rid of that heat alot better. The thermo will cost you like $15 max including an new gasket, and the electric fan will save you a few HP and allow the motor to get into the higher RMP's faster and should done anyway (My new improvement on my stang).

On a fox body 302 the timing is set from the factory between 8-10 degree's usually. I have mine set to 14* and running 87 octane I don't have any pinging. I just bumped the timing up a degree or so until it started pinging and then backed it off one degree and made a couple runs to make sure I didn't hear it anymore.

But the following links might help:

This link is about junk yard electric fan mods and will help, I don't have the one for the Mark VIII fan on this computer, but PM me and I can send it to you.

This one talkes about three core radiators and putting them in fox's which might help.
