Default backfiring

what causes back firing through intake . new motor timed at 10 degrees mallory ign and dizzy wont run for s*%t going to burn it soon

Make sure your valves are adjusted right. If one of your rockersis misadjusted it could be crackingthe intake valveopen making a bad vacuum leak and itwill pop through the intake.

there are hydrolic lifters and i was told to snug them down until the push rods stoped moving then go 1/2 turn past is this correct or did i do it wrong the engine is brand new i just put it back in and it wont idle with the mass air pluged in either any advise
