no worries. it just means that the car has been wrecked and it will take more money to fix it than you can sell it for, or for what its worth.

now you have learned something today. haha

A salvage title is issued for the car once it has been "totaled" in an accident. Once you have the salvage certificate in your hands, you can fix the car. You then have to go thru an inspection by a certified mechanic, and once he gives his approval you can apply for a "reconstructed " title. Once you have the that it is legal for you to operate the vehicle on the road. If you get cought operating a vehicle with a salvage title, the s**t gets really deep!

The salvage can be issued for flood, fire, crash or theft depending on the state. Each state will use it for different things, so if you google your state and Salvage title it will tell you what it means and what it will be called after you get it rebuilt.

Exactly! Oklahoma is not that strict on Salvage titles. You can build your own car from parts from many cars, and get a Salvage title. Or like what was said above. If totaled, the state will issue a salvage title to the owner, you can transfer it, use it, or whatever. But banks will not typically loan money on a vehicle with a Salvage title, and the value of the vehicle is generally a little lower than a vehicle with regular title.

If youre looking at something like an older Fox body a salvage title doesnt mean much.
Just look at how many of our cars have been repaired and have had bodywork done.

salvage title means the car has been in a reported accident etc...but differentstates have different issues for that...im pretty sure in most states that once the car is 23 years old the salvage titleis cleared...not sure though
