my car will have about 10.0:1 to 10.5:1 is that to much for say 6-8lbs of boost?
Yes. Unless you use a more stable fuel...

rbarn, could u tell me mine?
most of it should be in my sig.

need to know combustoion chamber size on head
pistons dish size
and how much your pistons are "in the hole" or was it "0 decked"?

and you can run 6-8 psi on a 10-1 engine no prob. just might have to
back timing out a good bit. an intercooler will help tons too.
non intercooled compressed air comes out of an s/c at like 200+ degrees
intercooler will get it back down to more like 100 degrees

its not the boost or psi but the heat from the boost that causes problems
if you can take the heat out with either water/meth or intercooler you can run
more boost on same engine.

You are right at 10-1 plus or minus 0.10 due to a couple of
factors that can change like head gasket thickness.

You drop alomst half a point by going from .039 compressed
to .060 compressed head gasket.

but most serious engine builders will tell you its not the way
to drop compression and you can run into detonation problems
by having too big of a "quench" area. Lots of techincal engine shyt
envolved.
