92 LX 2.3-to-5.0 swap. TOO MANY QUESTIONS. Just want links to good info...
I have way too many questions to waste your guys' time on; seen too many people get mad over this one repeated over and over. The same thing happens over at Honda-Tech.com when people ask a common question.
I looked through a few forums (including here, Corral.net, and AllFordMustangs.com), and couldn't find any good write-ups. Anyone know of any good ones?...
Thanks in advance...

bro the worst thing that can happen on mustangforums is someone wont answer you. we never b-tch at people for asking questions, just ignore ones that dont make sense. if your question is detailed enough then we will always reply. if not you just wont get an answer!!!!

Phil, you will need to upgrade to the V-8 springs up front and larger brakes too. The 7.5 rear end won't hold up long behind a 5.0 engine either, so you need to swap it out for an 8.8 rear end and this will also get you the larger rear brakes too. depending on how you drive it, you might also need to upgrade the sway bars to the larger ones from 5.0 also. unless the body you have is in really great shape, I would think hard about finding a 5.0 car instead of doing this swap as it will be lots of work and cost some fairly big bucks too.

Justfinished my swap!!! Bragging rights awarded to any idiots who accomplish this. Yes I was told to buy one, but I had a gt i didnt want and a clean lx that was needing more power. Swap it over, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! never again lol. Yes roundmans dead on. Bigger brakes, sway bars, rear end, vacuum canister, fuel lines, biggest problem i had was the computer, honestly find the parts buy em then do it. What year is it again and what year setup you swapping in? Mine was a 93' swapping in 89. Had to find different engine harness, Alt harness, computer, What a pain in the tailpipe oh yeah had to buy those too. lol

^^^^first why bump a thread 5 years old...create your own........as for roundman....he's full of shiz!!! fyi 86 I believe and below 5.0's had the same 10 inch brake set up on the 5.0's as the 2.3 87 and up stangs had, I'm still running the 4 cyl brakes and sway bars and vaccum canister on my 92 conversion with no stopping probs whatsoever and it runs mid 13's at the track and as for the 7.5 not holding up long...of course swap it if you had an 8.8 sitting but my donar car was an 85 so I pulled the t-loc out of it as 85 was 7.5 in the 5.0's and put it in the 4cyl housing and proceeded to pull 1.7-1.8 4500 -5500 launches ....in fact over a 5 year period and 250+ launches it finally blew last year so in went an 8.8.... so much for not holding up long behind a 5.0...lol
