Default DYI Twin Turbo Cost

Just finished researching and ordering most of
the parts for my custom twin-turbo about to go in
and figured I would share.

This is turbo only cost and does not include the fuel system upgrades
and I switched from MAF to SD, so no blow-thru MAF cost either.

(2) 60-1 turbos from local tune shop with 1yr warranty ................ $1,500(edited)
(1) Treadstone twin turbo intercooler .............................................. $400
(2) 38mm Tial wastegates .................................................. ............. $400
(1) 50mm BOV .................................................. ............................ $200
(1) Jegs HotRod exhasut kit for custom down-pipe fab .................... $200
(1) set of 1 5/8's shorty headers .................................................. .... $200
( still might go with Anderson 1 3/4 shorties but they cost a lot more )
(1) intercooler polished alum. piping and couplers ............................. $200
(1) misc items like oil feed lines and such ...........................................$200

Parts .................................................. ............................................. $3,500

(1) Pay welder friend to fab up everything and help with install ......... $1,200

Total .................................................. ............................................ $4,700 Installed.

$4700 seems like a kit price. piece by piece, DIY, should be quite a bit cheaper than that.

Twin kits run more like $6,000
and that cost is installed, not just for the parts.

single turbo install would take some cost down
cause only need one turbo, and one waste gate
and could use cheaper simpler intercooler

Exactly, putting crappy old junkyard turbos on a brand new $6,000 engine is DUMB

and yeah if I had access to a welding maching I could do it myself.

So just for all new quality parts figure ..............$3,500
