RE: afr 165 or trick flow twisted wedge?
When I get my KB I will be sure to try and match your numbers with my inferior 165 heads And thanks for the compliment
LOL...
I agree a cam in a procharged car is worth more than 15....but I am also loosing 10-20 horse running Catalytic Converters...that is why I figured it was still a pretty even comparison....Again my point is not that 165s suck...just that TWs are decent as well....I guess I beat this point to death!!!
OnyxCobra Good luck with the KB..dont see too many on 5.0s....

TFTW heads are most definitely decent, can't argue that point. Are you running stock cats or high flows? High flows and o/r pipes are only a few HP diff.
thanks, thats b/c KBs suck on 5.0s, u know how they geat heatsoaked and all

I heard the heat soak thing..I might have even said that...I get that from a dude I know with a 03 Cobra....
How much boost was the KB guy running who hit 500rwhp with the 165s???
I took this from the Kenne Bell site....this is 500 with 185s but that is motor horse not rear wheel....
How well does the new Kenne Bell BLOWZILLA/FLOWZILLA work? Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords Editor Richard Holdener recently tested the Kenne Bell BLOWZILLA/FLOWZILLA kit on his own engine with the Westech engine dyno. The little 302 had #185 AFR heads, Comp Cams #274 cam, 75mm throttle body, 77mm mass air, Kenne Bell Switch Chip and 42 lb injectors. The combination made an amazing 508HP at 9.2 psi and483 ft lbs @ 4000 rpm.

okay, if i get the AFR 165's i should have no valve to piston clearance issues on a stock bottom end? What's the most lift and duration i can run without having valve clearance issues with these heads? I'm gonna get a custom grind, but just want a ball park number. Thanks.

He's running 12psi, he's making 498whp 497wtq. Along with the KB he has the other supporting mods and his cam is smaller than the one I'm running. The 185s do flow more than the 165s but it's not like an enormous difference or anything, would obviously help though.
