my 5.0 burns a quart every500 miles or so. how much oil does your 5.0 drink through?

my last motor went through mabye 7 litres in 3000kms, but there was no rings on the #8 piston.

the new rebuilt motor burns no oil

184k miles on the motor and I burn about a quart between oil changes.

But my '86.......that thing went throuhg a quart a week!

Between the leak in my rear main seal and the ton of smoke that came out of my pipes I was a major contributor to the whole global warming thing

i have a valve cover gasket leak but thats about it. i thought it was normal for 5.0s to drink oil a lot?

Mine burns a quart every 1k miles. What that means is that I could go 1500 or so miles before the oil light would come on (ifI wanted to), and that in three thousand miles, I add two quarts before changing the oil. It seems to go that way like clockwork, and hasn't gotten any better or worse.

mine doesnt eat a drop atleast not enough to notice and when ever i do an oil change always right at 3k or before the oil is very very clean still

I use about a quart every 1000 to 1500 miles. I also noticed, if it is full, I will use a quart faster than if i keep it a little low...kinda weird.

Hey, 5.0Stanger, how many miles have you personally put on your car altogether. Has the rate of oil consumption changed during that time?
