Actually I didn't mean to say gear lube...Why the hell would there be gear lube in my brake drums?? Hello? LOL...I need the gear lube because I need to refill the carrier after I pull my axles to redo the bearings and seals...the seals are why there is GREASE in my drum. But thanks anyway for trying to make me look like an idiot.

Axle grease? Where the hell did that come from... the only fluids that you should ever see in that area are gear lube or brake fluid!!! I think you meant to say gear lube.

So I went to change the brake shoes on the passenger side rear, and I took the drum off to discoveraxle greaseeverywhere. What kind of oil do I need for the rear end? Also I'm going to need limited slip additive too right? Can you just get that at Advance?

^^+1 You got it, if you're seeing lubricant of some kind, when you remove the brake drum, it's either axle seals or a wheelcylinder. My buddy and I just put gears in my 93 and I used 75w90 synthetic, about 1-1/2 quarts, it had the friction modifier in it. I think it was castrol.
