The only problem I can see is that you may have a severe belt squeel due to the lack of contact area on the crank pully. You may want to try and rout the belt like raven showed and maybe the tensioner will kick you up enough to clear over the waterpump without adding an idler

Oh Yeah... I KNOW it is pretty dirty, but it is only gonna be in there like 6-8 months then it is getting sold and i am dropping in a REALLY pretty and chromed out 408 ; ) For now i am just making sure it looks good with the hood closed and that it goes like a bat out of hell!!
Needs to be lower for hood clearance and to look MUCH better!

Doesn't make sense though.. With a stock placement alternator, you should only have clearance problems if you have mounts that raise the engine (a lot). And to fix that you would need a cowl hood, which would eliminate the original problem anyway
